-sagem Accessories - How to Get a Real Estate License in New Jersey - (5/20/2012)

Understanding how to get a real estate license in new Jersey is fairly straightforward. the licensing process is governed by the new Jersey Real Estate Commission (the NJREC). There are just four steps candidates need to complete, and all 4 steps must be completed within one year of the last day of the required Salesperson Prelicensure course.

1. the Commission requires all licensing candidates to take a mandatory 75-hour prelicensure course at an accredited real estate school. In order to meet the minimum attendance requirements, students may not miss more than 20% of the 75 course hours, for a maximum of 15 total hours absent. Students must also pass the final exam administered by the school itself.

Tip: Choosing an accredited school is an important decision; students should take care to get references from people active in the business, and whenever possible, listen to the instructor teach before registering for classes at any particular school.

2. Once students have successfully completed the prelicensure course, they are eligible to sit for the NJ Salesperson’s Licensing Exam. the exam is currently administered by a testing company called PSI Exams. Students must pass this computerized exam with a 70% or better. the exam is graded immediately and candidates are told whether they have passed or failed the exam before leaving the testing center. a PSI Score Report will be issued accordingly – candidates receive either a pass notice or a report indicating which subject areas they need to improve.

Tip: If a candidate does not pass initially, he or she my retake the Examination again by waiting 24 hours and then calling the testing center to reschedule.

3. After passing the State Exam, candidates need to schedule an appointment with a company called Sagem Morpho to have their fingerprints taken electronically for the purpose of a criminal history record check. Candidates receive paperwork and a receipt on-site after completing their appointment.

Tip: your fingerprints are only good for 90 days, so do not schedule an appointment for fingerprints until AFTER you have passed the State Exam

4. After completing steps 1 – 3 noted above, candidates may bring their PSI Score Report and Sagem Morpho paperwork & receipt to their future real estate brokerage company (i.e., the company for whom the candidate intends to work). the brokerage will in turn submit the candidate’s application to the NJREC for review.

Tip: Although we are not calling it out as a specific step in the process, please understand that deciding which company to work for is absolutely critical in developing your career, so it’s important to do everything you can to make an informed decision.

Noteworthy: Any discussion regarding how to get a real estate license in new Jersey should also advise candidates that, as a Salesperson, they must work for a Licensed NJ Brokerage company. however, once a Salesperson has worked in the business for 3 years on a full-time basis, they are eligible to further their education and apply to become a Licensed Broker themselves.

Tip: it is NOT legal to work as a Salesperson until a Salesperson’s license has been issued by the State of NJ. Candidates receive their actual license from the State via mail in approximately 7 to 10 business days.

-sagem Accessories - Designing a Custom Looking Bathroom With Stock Supplies - (5/20/2012)

When you are remodeling your bathroom if you can use stock cabinets and fixtures, you can keep your costs way down. The problem, however, is that you may end up with a room that looks just like any other bathroom on the planet.

There are things that you can do with these stock fixtures that will give them your very own signature look and have that one of a kind bathroom that you are trying to create. here are some easy things that you can do to start with a stock look and end with a custom look.

Some materials are easier to work with than others are. While you can get anything to work, when you have a choice your best bet would be to choose easier products to handle. having said that, Formica and melamine are tough surfaces to paint. You have to use an industrial strength two part paint product. It contains resin with a catalyst to bond to the smooth surface. It is hard to work with, and it puts off toxic fumes.

The other challenge that melamine types of products present is that they are constructed as a veneer over particleboard. Since the melamine veneer is simply glued to the particleboard, unless you are working with a really high end product, you may find that the product does not hold up very well. You also have to be very careful to pre-drill any holes that you are going to make or you may split the board. So as far as customizing goes, this would not be one of the better choices.

Wood is much easier to work with, and it is far more forgiving. You can give it any number of finishes from stain, to paint and you can also easily change or embellish it.

Customizing techniques

When you are trying to change the look of something, one of the easiest things to do is to give it a new finish. if you look in any craft store, you can find many different finishes. You can use a crackle finish to get an antique look in your room. For example, you can paint your cabinets dark blue. Let the paint dry overnight, and then apply the crackle medium and your white paint. You will end up with white cabinets with dark blue crackles, which will be a fabulous way to showcase your blue Delft Pitcher collection. Now you not only have a fully customized cabinet, but it specifically showcases your beautiful collection.

You may choose to treat all of your cabinets with the crackle medium, or you may choose to highlight a few cabinets and use the crackle medium on them to make them a focal point in the room. by highlighting just a few cabinets, you are making the room interesting and unique.

You can continue to embellish this look by adding a decoupage element. choose pictures that enhance the theme of your bathroom, and use them to create a custom look on all of your cabinet doors. You can mix this look with the crackle medium as well and give your decoupage an antique look.

You can always finish off the custom look of a cabinet or a shelf by adding molding to it. You can also build up the front of a cabinet by attaching trim and painting. You can make your cabinet as ornate as you wish, and if you cannot match the color of the cabinet, then consider making the trim a contrasting color or simply paint the entire cabinet.

Adding molding to the top of a cabinet will give it a built-in look. You can also add molding around the bottom of a cabinet, and it will look best if it seems to wrap itself around the bottom edge. The molding can be simply attached with finishing nails and finished off with either stain or paint. Again you may choose to add molding in a contrasting color, or you may decide to make it look like a single, ornate piece by painting the whole cabinet, trim and all, the same color.

-sagem Accessories - Accessories That Connect To Hearing Aids - (5/16/2012)

One of the few down sides to wearing most hearing aid styles is that you can’t put anything ELSE in your ears at the same time. This means no ear-level Bluetooth pieces, no iPod or MP3 player earbuds, and often no headsets for listening to TV. Consumers have been asking for a solution, and finally manufacturers are listening. now there are ways to connect to the audio gadget of your choice without first having to remove your hearing help. most use Bluetooth technology or in some way connect via Bluetooth.

What is Bluetooth?
Put simply, Bluetooth technology is a short-range wireless radio technology that allows electronic devices to securely connect to one another without wires.

How does Bluetooth Work With Hearing Aids?
Bluetooth allows hearing assist to communicate with hands-free devices, such as a music player and cell phone. It can also be used with accessories that act as transmitters to take information from non-Bluetooth audio devices, such as a TV or stereo system, and send it to the hearing assists using the same Bluetooth technology. These accessories are manufacturer-specific and are an optional extra accompanying the hearing assist purchase. Accessories range in price from $100 to $400 each. In addition, Bluetooth allows the audio signal to be altered through the hearing support programming to better suit the listeners hearing needs, while also allowing the two hearing serve supports to communicate with one another, permitting a more hands free hearing experience.

What are Some Examples?
The hearing support manufacturer Oticon uses Bluetooth in their Streamer device. the Streamer, worn around the neck, is paired with the hearing supports and then the audio devices you want to use. the Streamer is not a true Bluetooth system in that it uses the hearing relief’s internal T-coil to communicate with the hearing reliefs. This requires that the Streamer be worn around the neck to pick up the audio signal. Although this means the wearer is essentially tied to the accessory device, the Streamer allows for direct streaming of a Bluetooth audio signal to the hearing reliefs without first removing the hearing reliefs. Oticon also sells a line of products under their ConnectLine brand, which includes an adapter for non-Bluetooth audio signals from televisions and landline phones.

Phonak uses a device called the iCom, which operates similarly to the Streamer. It also uses induction to the hearing help T-coil with a device that is worn around the neck. the iCom allows for connection of up to five different audio devices. This allows the listener to listen to the TV, using the Phonak TV accessory, switch easily to an incoming cell phone call, then resume with the TV audio after the call is finished. Seimens uses Tek Connect, which is similar to the Streamer and iCom accessories.

The next generation of truly wireless connectivity is now available in several hearing help. ReSound’s Alera hearing help can use the Unite accessories to connect to TV and cell phone without the use of a neck-worn accessory. the Alera and Unite accessories are the first truly hands-free Bluetooth hearing help devices.

Starkey also has a hands-free Bluetooth device in its Wi line. At the moment, the Bluetooth technology is only available for streaming TV audio through its SurfLink accessory. the streaming rate, however, is extremely fast which means there is no lag-time between what the viewer sees on screen and what is heard at ear-level, which is often noticeable in some of the other products.

The newest wireless hearing abet on the market is the Widex Clear. currently it is only available in the standard Behind-The-Ear and Receiver-In-The-Canal styles. WidexLink is used to transmit sound from external devices to the hearing abets when watching TV, talking on the mobile phone or listening to music. This is done by way of an external transmitting device. the TV-DEX is used for TV streaming and the M-DEX is used for streaming cell phone audio to the hearing abets.

Other companies are getting into the Bluetooth accessory race, as well. for example, Nokia has introduced a wireless loopset that allows users with T-coil equipped hearing abet to have a connection to their cell phones. the loopset allows for a wide range of control from control of volume and also volume range and frequency. Many cell phone carriers are now offering Bluetooth accessories for hands-free cell phone use. Check with your carrier’s website for availability.

What should I Think About Before I Buy?
First, talk things over with your audiologist. By working together, you can determine whether or not new hearing aids would be a good fit for you.

Also, consider your lifestyle. are you a gadget person? is music a big part of your life or would you like to enjoy music more often? does your state require hands-free cell phone use? is the TV volume too loud for others? if so, Bluetooth accessories are a great way to combat these listening issues.

Be aware that there are a few downsides to Bluetooth accessories: You’ll need to keep track of not only the hearing aids, but also another accessory in most cases. You’ll also need to remember to keep the accessory charged. In addition, you may need to upgrade your gadgets (cell phone and music player) for Bluetooth compatibility. Remember that your audiologist is your best ally. you may need to make a few extra visits to ensure everything is properly paired and that you understand how everything works, but ultimately, a hands-free experience can give you a new-found freedom for listening to the sounds of life that you may have been missing.

-sagem Accessories - 2013 Mercedes SL Accessory Range - (5/16/2012)

Mercedes released more details on the new accessories they’ve designed for the new 2013 Mercedes SL, for those who want to add a bit more functionality and joie de vivre to their fabulous convertible sports car. The range is pretty wide and include stuff from all-weather mats, to ten-spoke alloy wheels, to iPhone integration kit.

To give an idea of how wide the new range of optional extras really is, Mercedes offers up to eleven different alloy wheels, and a total of 16 charging cradles and docks for various smartphones.

Other remarkable items we came across in the list include the COMAND Online multimedia system, boasting a DVD changer, and the media interface, which can be integrated via cable with a host of mobile end devices.

Those more interested in visual features can choose the AMG bodystyling package, comprising front and rear aprons and side skirts, and a choice of three 19″ five-spoke wheels, or elegant door sill made from brushed stainless steel and featuring illuminated lettering, or the key ring, a replica of the SL symbol on the boot lid.

Owning a Mercedes SL has never been more fun! That said, Mercedes kinda need to keep customers amused with all this extra garnish, because if they ever pull up beside an old SL, they’re going to ask themselves why the old car looks so much better than mine?

-sagem Accessories - HTC Car StereoClip Bluetooth dongle (hands-on) - (5/10/2012)

With new phones always come new accessories, and HTC’s One series is no different. Today we got a chance to see one of the company’s more interesting offerings, the Car StereoClip. The accessory is a USB flash drive-sized Bluetooth dongle that will receive wireless audio from your phone and pass it off to a speaker with its male 3.5mm headphone jack. What’s different about the StereoClip is that it supports Bluetooth 4.0 and aptX, which means the audio quality from phones that support both those standards should be significantly better than what you might be used to on typical A2DP Bluetooth devices.

The StereoClip itself is an incredibly simple affair hardware-wise — it’s essentially a handsome USB flash drive with a 3.5mm jack instead of a USB plug under the cap. The device is powered by a Micro USB port, and while it says “car” in the name, it can be used to wirelessly transmit audio to any system with a 3.5mm input — which is to say, just about anything. Whether you’re beaming audio to your car speakers or your home stereo, if you’re using an One X or One S it’ll enter the Sense 4.0 version of Android’s car mode, which offers a touch-friendly interface. We didn’t get to hear the audio quality for ourselves outside of the noisy CTIA show floor, but aptX does offer a noticeable improvement. if you’re interested, the Car StereoClip will run you $59.99 from Sprint when it releases alongside the Evo 4G LTE on May 18th, and we’re told that AT&T will be selling it “in the next 30 days.”

-sagem Accessories - Better Tech Accessory Play: ZAGG vs. Skullcandy - (5/5/2012)

The following video is part of our “Motley Fool Conversations” series, in which consumer goods editor and analyst Austin Smith and technology and media editor and analyst Andrew Tonner discuss topics across the investing world.

In today’s edition, Andrew and Austin talk about a creative way to play the mobile revolution: accessories. so many investors have looked to component plays as the one-off way to profit from big mobile growth that they seem to have overlooked this potential avenue. two of the most compelling plays are Skullcandy (NAS: SKUL) and ZAGG (NAS: ZAGG) . As many people begin using their mobile devices as portable media stations, they are invariably drawn to pick up a hip pair of self-expressive headphones to get full use from them. while Apple‘s (NAS: AAPL) ever-popular iPhone comes with headphones, that hasn’t seemed to hurt Skullcandy, which grew sales 45% from last year. then there is ZAGG, which sells cases for mobile devices, including the whole suite of iGadgets. while they don’t have the same brand strength as Skullcandy, their products are a more common mobile device accessory than flashy headphones.

These companies are just two ways to profit from Apple’s continued growth. There are the component plays I mentioned earlier, which you can read about in our report “The Next Trillion Dollar Revolution,” which details a hidden component play inside mobile phones that also is a market leader in the exploding Chinese market. Inside the report, we not only describe why the mobile revolution will dwarf any other technology revolution seen before it, but we also name the company at the forefront of the trend. Hundreds of thousands have requested access to previous reports, and you can access this new report today by clicking here — it’s free.
